January 30, 2015—Annual recertification of 340B eligibility for all enrolled providers other than hospitals and Title X family planning clinics began on Jan. 28 and will end on March 11, according to a notice on the Health Resources and Services Administration Office of Pharmacy Affairs home page. Covered entities other than hospitals and family planning centers are:

  • Federally Qualified Health Centers
  • Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alikes
  • Native Hawaiian Health Centers
  • Tribal / Urban Indian Health Centers
  • Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Grantees
  • Black Lung Clinics
  • Comprehensive Hemophilia Diagnostic Treatment Centers
  • Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinics
  • Tuberculosis Clinics

The Affordable Care Act required the Health Resources and Services Administration to recertify all covered entities annually. HRSA began implementing the requirement in the fall of 2011.

OPA held a webinar on Jan. 7 for entities that need to recertify now and has posted a recording along with the slide presentation. It strongly encouraged entities to review the recently updated 340B database guide to recertification.

OPA said entities with questions about recertification should contact ApexusAnswers at (888) 340-2787 or ApexusAnswers@340bpvp.com. [/ms-protect-content]
