September 9, 2014—Express Scripts, the nation’s largest pharmacy benefit manager, has withdrawn from the drug industry led Alliance for Integrity and Reform of 340B.[ms-protect-content id=”2799″]
“I can confirm that we are no longer a member,” Express Scripts Vice President for Corporate Communications Brian Henry wrote in Sept. 8 email. The company declined further comment.
The patient advocacy group Global Healthy Living Foundation also is no longer listed among AIR 340B’s members on the group’s webpage. The foundation, which advocates on behalf of people with arthritis, psoriasis, osteoporosis, and other chronic conditions, did not respond to a request for comment.
AIR 340B was established in May 2013 and Express Scripts was one of its 11 founding members.
