May 24, 2012—Today we’re re-launching the Drug Discount Monitor with a new look and new features to enhance your reading experience. You’ll now be able to get instant email alerts whenever we publish new articles, subscribe to a Monitor news feed, follow us on Twitter, and do keyword searches of our previous stories dating back to February 2009. To access our improved Web site, you might have to reset your password. Continue reading for more details.
An Overview
Members of Safety Net Hospitals for Pharmaceutical Access (SNHPA), which publishes the Monitor, receive complimentary subscriptions and, until now, have accessed them at www.snhpa.org/members/Monitor. Non-members who pay to subscribe have accessed the Monitor at www.340binformed.associationbreeze.com.
Beginning May 24, SNHPA members and paid subscribers will all access the Monitor at a new, shorter Web address: 340binformed.associationbreeze.com. It will no longer be necessary to enter the “www” at the beginning of our address, but if you do, that’s fine. If you navigate to www.snhpa.org/members/Monitor or www.340binformed.associationbreeze.com, you will be automatically redirected to 340binformed.associationbreeze.com.
During the past year, SNHPA began using a new database system to manage registration for its own events and those of the 340B Coalition. (Paid Monitor subscriber are entitled to a discount on 340B Coalition events, such as the upcoming 340B Coalition Annual Meeting July 9-11 in Washington, D.C. Click here for more information.) If you have registered for a 340B Coalition event since the middle of last spring or a SNHPA event since the beginning of this year, you already know that the changeover required you to reset your SNHPA password, as the new database system does not allow us to carry over your old password.
SNHPA is now beginning to use the same database system to manage both free-member and paid-subscriber access to the Monitor. If you have not reset your password yet, you are going to need to do so to access the Monitor.

Three ways to get Monitor news in real time
Beginning May 24, you will have three new ways to get instant alerts when we publish new articles.
New article alerts via email. You will now be able to subscribe to instant news alerts via email. In the upper right part of the new Monitor home page you’ll see the words “Get new article alerts via email.” Enter your email address in the white box and click the blue arrow. You can also subscribe by clicking the hyperlink that appears at the end of each story. We strongly encourage you to subscribe to this new service.
RSS feed. Also for the first time, Monitor readers will be able to subscribe to a news feed of our headlines using RSS (Really Simple Syndication). Click on the bright orange RSS icon in the upper right part of the new Monitor home page and follow the instructions.
Twitter. Readers can also stay on top of the Monitor by following us on Twitter. Look for the light blue box in the lower right part of the new Monitor home page and click on the “Follow us on Twitter” link.
The Monitor will continue to send you periodic email messages with links to our most recent articles. We might discontinue these emails if readers begin using our new article alert services in large numbers.
Search the Monitor Archives
You will now be able to do keyword searches of our previous stories dating back to February 2009 by clicking on the Search tab in the dark blue box in the upper right part of the new Monitor home page. PDF versions of the former print-only version of the Monitor will be available by clicking the Archives tab.
