September 5, 2013—The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has released eight more brief summaries of findings from its audits of 340B covered entities in 2012, bringing the total to 42 out of 51 audits conducted last year.[ms-protect-content id=”2799″]

HRSA’s Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) posted the new audit findings on its website late in the day on Sept. 4. It released findings from 16 audits in mid-July and its first batch of 18 audit findings in early February.

The latest audit findings involve four disproportionate share (DSH) hospitals, two community health centers, one family planning clinic, and one county health department with three family planning clinics and a tuberculosis clinic.

All eight audits produced adverse findings. Sanctions are still to be determined in all of the cases. For the group of eight covered entities as a whole, HRSA had four findings of mistakes in the 340B covered entity database, five findings of alleged Medicaid billing errors, and four findings of a drug or drugs allegedly dispensed to an ineligible patient or patients.[/ms-protect-content]
